Why do people do what they do?

The science of behavior, known as behavior analysis, reveals that human behavior is a function of its consequences: People do what they do because of what happens to them when they do it. Understanding the impact of consequences allows leaders to predict and positively influence behavior to accelerate business performance. People will do, as a matter of habit, what brings them positive experience.

ADI's methodologies are grounded in the evidence-based application of behavior analysis. We help you apply laws of behavior derived from nearly a century of research using the same scientific methods used by the physical sciences: precise definition of the behavior under study, experimentation, and consistent replication of the experimental findings. Times change. People change. But the laws that govern human behavior are constant.

You don't need to be a scientist to apply the science of behavior in your organization. ADI makes it easy for leaders at all levels to understand and effectively manage consequences to accelerate business performance.

With more than 5,500 members from 43 countries, ABAI is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to developing, enhancing, and supporting the growth and vitality of behavior analysis through research, education, and practice.
