The 5 C’s are commonly described as clarity, communication, commitment, consistency, and coaching. Together, they help leaders explain why change is happening, align expectations, reinforce desired behaviors, and support teams through uncertainty. In practice, effective change leadership also requires systems, feedback, and accountability so the message is backed by daily leadership actions rather than words alone.
